Reservoir Investigation work - update from Anglian Water Dec 2023
As you know, we are carrying out a range of survey work in the local area to help shape our proposals for a new reservoir in Lincolnshire.
We are writing to let you know that we will soon be starting to carry out investigations to help us understand more about the size of watercourses in the area. These surveys will involve our team measuring river channels from the banks and using remote-controlled boats with sensor equipment fitted.
Our team will be accessing various points along river channels within and around the proposed reservoir site. Access will either be taken via existing public rights of way, or via private land. Access via private land will of course only ever take place with the permission of the landowners.
This means people may see a presence from our team in the local area, although we do not expect this work to cause any disruption.
Our onsite operatives will be equipped with contact cards to ensure that any queries are directed to the team.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the local community for their continued patience while we carry out these essential surveys.
We have engaged with national bodies such as Natural England and the Environment Agency, and the relevant local authorities to keep them informed about our proposals and any potential impacts on protected sites. We will continue to consult with these organisations as we develop our proposals.
Dialogue with affected landowners and residents who live on the site is also ongoing.
