The Swaton Vintage Show is held each year on the last Sunday in June and also features the World Egg Throwing Championships with international teams from the likes of Holland, Japan, Germany, New Zealnd & Ireland attending.
This family country show which started in 1994 in Swaton is now located a mile up the road on a larger open ground on the farm in Thorpe Latimer, along the B1394, and only about 15 minutes drive from the A17 and 5 minutes from the A52. Our location is convenient for those travelling from Sleaford, Lincoln, Grantham, Boston, Newark, Bourne, Peterborough and all surrounding areas.
Its a must for a family day out. The event has featured on UK TV as well as BBC Australia and more recently Latvian TV and has attracted one or two well known celebrities too. Its been a great fund raiser with all profits being donated to national and local charities and over the years has donated in excess of £100,000 to deserved causes.
Visitors will be entertained by a variety of live music and singers as well as our very own steel band. This year will also feature a WW1 exhibtion and a Lancaster Bomber flyover. The event will also feature steam engines, vintage cars, motorbikes, farm vehicles and trucks and as always there will be a tea tent selling refreshments and delicious, locally made cakes, plus a beer and refreshment tent, trade stands and stalls selling locally made produce and crafts, an arts and crafts tent, various activities including rides for the kids, a dog show. For those looking rfor good food there will be a hog roast and other food stalls.
